greatest Ayurvedic doctors. One of our most popular services is Digestive
Disorders.
Gastroesophageal
Reflux Disease (GERD) is a condition that affects the oesophagus (GERD).
Acid reflux,
also known as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), is a disorder in which
stomach acids back up into the food pipe, causing a burning feeling behind the
breastbone. A circular band of muscle (sphincter) normally traps acid in the
stomach and keeps it closed unless swallowed. Stomach acid tends to back up if
the sphincter relaxes unnaturally or gets weaker, creating heartburn symptoms.
Heartburn after eating (which gets worse at night), chest pain, difficulty
swallowing, regurgitation of food or sour liquid, a lump in the throat, and
sleep disturbances are all common indications and symptoms of GERD. GERD and
respiratory disorders such as chronic cough, laryngitis, and asthma have been
linked in several studies. GERD is exacerbated by obesity, overeating, certain
meals, beverages, and medications. GERD is addressed differently from gastritis
since it is a Vata imbalance rather than a Pitta condition.
Treatment suggestions:
- Place a block under the feet
of your bed to raise the head side of your bed.
- Eat little meals throughout the day
rather than two or three large meals.
- Chew your food fully and
slowly. Take, for example, early dinners. Uncooked salads, fatty or fried
foods, mustard, vinegar, tomato sauce, alcohol, citrus goods, garlic,
onion, carbonated beverages, and caffeine should all be avoided.
- Drink cumin-seed-infused
water.
- A half-day fast once a week
can be beneficial.
